Just because I like it

  As I stared helplessly at the reflection of my own face in the large curved bowl  at the end of a spoon,  summer vacation  drew fully to an end. The chorus of cicadas vibrating the screen door suddenly picks up in intensity — as if to transport me back to the entrance to summer. Kiji Kutani Sun is almost gone. Long days and secluded nights of this strange lonely summer are over. I go out for a walk in an empty city, taking advantage of the last warm days. In these rooms where I live out our days, I wander round and round trying to find the windows. It will be a relief when a window opens. But the windows aren't there to be found - or at least I can't find them. And perhaps it's better if I don't find them. Perhaps the light will prove another tyranny. Who knows what new things it will expose? Still, a bit chilly and windy so although my head is thinking about the upcoming summer, I have to be realistic and add a sweater and opaque tights to a pair of shorts. This sweater is made for Peruvian alpaca wool, nice and soft fabric. Don't complain and enjoy sunny days, the clean air, and the empty city. I stole my grandfather's gray hat when I was a teenager and I still have it and wear it sometimes. This green fedora does not have much story to tell but still I like it a lot.     We were surprised for the (lets hope) last snow this year. Nordic spring, still cold, dirty snow, streets covered in mud during the day and ice during the night. Also a few sunny days that make us believe the worst is over when a small night snow fall, bringing us back to march I go out to the baranda with a cup of the, to enjoy the white landscape and I smile thinking in other latitudes where spring is already in. Dumped wet and momentary on a dull ground that’s been clear but clearly sleeping, for days. Last snow melts as it falls, piles up slush, runs in first light making a music in the streets we wish we could keep. Last snow. That’s what we’ll think for weeks to come. Stubborn calendar of bone. I love the tweed fabric, so classy, warm and versatile.
