Old fashion date night

Image
I use to love to wear costumes when I was a little girl and of course that has not disappear at all. I found this burgundy hat in a second hand charity shop and was love at the first sight. I decided to use it for a formal night out, with an also vintage lace dress, my old and heavy Astrakhan coat, pearls, and long gloves of course.  I had fun, cocktails, lovely companion and my costume made me felt a bit in one of my favourite black and white movies. Not exactly “La dolce Vita”, but “All about Eve” neither.

Sneaking out

Image
When the winter starts to say goodbye, It left behind the quiet darkness, wool socks, lazy afternoons and a mess in our closet. The next April seems to be not too far and optimism in mixed with gravel and dirty streets, the last winter clothes and clean air trough the recently opened windows.  Despite a little rain and still mud in the walksides, is very nice to take long walk for the first time in weeks, and sneak out the shy sun or the ice patches on the grass. An maybe later, have a sit in a coffee just looking through the window a few impatient people walking around wearing only a light jacket or a sweater. I am not so brave, but today I am very proud of my self because I dared to go out with naked fingertips!

Got the light

Image
The fluorescent colour objects reflect more light than they received, including there a small dosage of UV light, normally invisible to the naked eye. This mean that are capable of transform invisible light in visible one, so there are a little bit magic, if we think about.   So, the fluorescent colors clothes really emit light, causing the immediate effect of turning off the head. Although a while ago their use in winter items was restricted to sports clothes and ski accessories, now (and I love it!) you can see it everywhere. Like in this outfit, a single fluorescent item pulls out of boringness and enlighten a frozen afternoon. ...

Building the winter

The turquoise and brown colours combination has become popular, specially for interior design, hand-crafting, DIY, and other decorative arts. The proliferation of different textiles and fabrics made with floral or geometrical patterns, mixing baroque and curved lines, psychedelic or repetitive motifs using both colours has in demand. This pallet is also widely used to accessorize and ornament weddings and other formal events.    This winter outfit, incorporates the harmony of this colour combination in to sport and comfortable clothes at neutral colors, and the turquoise handmade scarf made it great for this nordic cold days within the occasional and always welcome sunshine.

Twenty years apart

Image
This Irish Donegal Tweed is so warm and cozy, perfect for the early winter cold mornings. I like the versatility and the soberly of this classic fabric, easy to mix an perfect with bright colors.   This vest used to belong to my father and I found the wide leg trousers in a second hand shop but they both match just perfect! And the handmade bracelet is a Mexican traditional chaquira beads handcraft. Vintage tweed wide leg trousers: Hoffledd: / ...

The white and the denim

Image
I wanted to try this white skirt with a denim shirt and although the unpredictable nordic summer prevented me to take out the jacket, this is my own version of a recurrent look (the white skirt and the denim jacket, like the name of a western movie) Still funny to me, this kind of outfit are called cowboy chic ;-) Tenia ganas de intentar esta falda blanca con una camisa de mezclilla y aunque el impredecible verano nórdico no me dejo quitarme la chaqueta, así salio mi propia variante de un modelito ya muy visto (todo mundo tiene derecho intentar su la suya ¿ no?) Con todo me sigue pareciendo gracioso que a este tipo de atuendos algunos les llaman cowboy chic  ;-)    white cotton and crochet skirt: Atmosfere / denim tank: H&M / denim shirt: Guess / olive and denim jacket: Levi's / boots: Aldo / wood beans earings & necklace : Ana Rosa Aceves

Dots with flow

Image
I love this skirt because the superposition effect of two semi translucent pieces of fabric. Looks great with the sun in front and have a very nice flowing. I loved the details in this look like the silver maryjanes and the transparent black tights or the fuchsia mini cardigan.
