I got to wear an ushanka

This hunter hat made of black thick fur, was a gift from a friend who traveled to Ukraine and knows how much I love hats. Back there, by the Baltic Sea and beyond, this kind of hats with ear-warmers (and originally from Mongolia) are called ushankas, the russian word for “ears”
Funny thing: this year I was almost looking forward for the winter to have the chance to wear it. It is so cozy and comfortable, I almost need nothing else to warm up, which is very convenient for a walk outside the morning after a heavy snowfall.
